A Very Historic GF Meal in Milan

Writer: RachaelRachael

Cantina Pietmontese is a charming restaurant located in the historic Ca' dei Tencitt palace, offering a variety of gluten free options on the menu including pasta. The restaurant offers a number of different seating options including a garden; since it was winter we chose to sit in the Tencitt Hall.

Where is this place? Located in the city center of Milan a short walk from the Duomo.

When did we go? November 2024

What’s good? Indy tried the gluten free pasta, I had regular pasta, and we split a steak entree. The gluten free pasta was some of the best we had and the steak was delicious. For dessert, we ordered fresh pineapple and a holiday dish that was basically eggnog and cookies. The eggnog came warm and somewhat frothed, which was interesting. We appreciated the fact that they offered a gluten free cookie option. The main dishes were also accompanied by an assortment of packaged gluten free breads and crackers.

Toast’s opinion? Toast was welcome in the restaurant and was even permitted to explore somewhat freely while we dined. The waitstaff doted on her.

Verdict: If you’re looking for historic Milanese charm and gluten free options, Cantina Piemontese is a good bet.
