Kitchen feels like a typical West Coast hipster brunch spot dropped in the middle of Paris in a neighborhood near the Louvre. It’s open for breakfast and lunch and serves a variety of vegan and vegetarian items, many of which are gluten free. Their breakfast offerings include juices, granola, yogurt, smoothies, pancakes and toasts (sadly the toasts are not available gluten free). They also have a small variety of gluten free baked goods at the front counter such as muffins, cookies, and breads. It’s a small place with a cozy, retro feel and the most adorable banana tile in the bathrooms.
Where is this place? There is only one location in the 3rd arrondissement.
When did we go? December 2023
What’s good? We had pancakes! Indy had the gluten free variety and I ordered the gluten-containing ones to compare. The gluten free pancakes (top cakes and closest to Indy in the photos below) were buckwheat based and super tasty. I actually enjoyed them more than the regular ones since they had a nutty and wholesome flavor. The regular pancakes were tasty, but a bit generic. Both cakes paired well with perfectly fried eggs and well made espresso beverages.
Toast’s opinion? Toast had a great time cuddling up on the school cafeteria style benches in this cozy cafe. The staff and patrons both adored her.
Verdict: If you want a California-style breakfast with a Parisian twist, Kitchen is a fun spot.
