What’s New at Nuflour in Seattle?

Writer: RachaelRachael

We’ve both lived in Seattle at various times during our lives–though not together–within walking distance of Nuflours, a quaint neighborhood bakery with 100% gluten free offerings. Indy was a regular Nuflours customer when he lived in Seattle, but it wasn’t one of his favorite places. This isn’t because it’s not good; it’s because Nuflours tends to focus on sweet treats like cookies and cookies vs more savory–and arguably technically challenging–gluten free items like breads and pastries. Although Nuflours does have a good selection of breads and hand pies, the majority of their items are on the sweeter side. In addition to catering to the gluten free crew, they also offer a lot of vegan and paleo items. Our visit in February was nearly 10 years after Indy’s last visit.

Where is this place? Nuflours is located in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood within walking distance of lots of cute shops, cafes, and restaurants.

When did we go? February 2024

What’s good? The cinnamon rolls! The eclairs made a tasty afternoon snack; the layer of ganache on top was probably technically too thick, but Rachael didn’t complain. We picked up a box of donuts and cinnamon rolls for breakfast the next morning too. The donuts were all pretty tasty, but we found them to be a bit too sweet. The cinnamon rolls were delicious, especially when warmed up and topped with the cream cheese frosting that comes with them.

How are the croissants (bakeries)? Sadly Nuflours doesn’t make croissants.

Toast’s opinion? Toast was welcome in the bakery.

Verdict: Nuflours is a Seattle staple for gluten free sweets that offers a killer cinnamon roll.
