Milan has a whole collection of gluten free bakeries and PanPerMe was our first stop during our most recent trip. This bakery is a 100% gluten free facility that offers a white variety of lunch and brunch fare including pastries, tartes, cookies, and more. The restaurant is decorated with plants and has a whimsical and organic feel; there is even a swingset table. Because we visited during the festive season, there was panettone and whole host of other holidays treats.
Where is this place? PanPerMe is located in Milan in the Porta Romana neighborhood.
When did we go? November 2024
What’s good? Indy tried a sandwich, which was basically a gluten free tramezzino. The bread was soft and delicious and had a yellowish color, probably due to eggs. We also tried a raspberry tea cake, holiday panettone, and chocolate hazelnut tarte. They were all delicious, but the tart was particularly tasty and unique.
How are the croissants (bakeries)? Sadly no croissants available!
Toast’s opinion? Toast was welcome in every place we visited in Italy during our November/December 2024 trip and this place was no exception.
Verdict: PanPerMe is a must visit for celiacs in Milan.
