Satisfy Your Gluten Free Sweet Tooth at Posh Pop

Writer: RachaelRachael

Posh Pop Bakeshop is a self proclaimed gluten free wonderland serving a wide variety of cakes, brownies, bars, cookies, donuts, and cookie prepared in a dedicated gluten free kitchen. The setting is cheery, pink, and very Instagrammable.  It specializes in desserts that are decadent and a bit over the top. Think flavors like churros, birthday cakes, peanut butter cups, s'mores, and M&Ms. They even had gluten free funnel cake!

As we enjoyed our dessert, we chatted with other patrons, many of whom had traveled considerable distances to indulge in the Posh Pop goodies. Although Indy doesn’t have much of a sweet tooth and prefers breads to brownies, we felt the need to try this popular spot. Everything was a bit too sweet for us, but we’re still really happy that this place exists to satisfy those in need of a sugar hit.

Where is this place? There are two locations in Manhattan. We visited the one on Bleeker Street. They also do nationwide shipping of some items.

When did we go? March 2024

What’s good? Indy ordered the very last apple cider donut and disappointed the couple behind us. We were also slightly disappointed by the donut, which was very cakey; Indy prefers a yeasted donut. Rachael ordered the peanut butter cookie pie, which was basically a pie shaped chocolate chip cookie stuffed and topped with peanut butter cups. It was delicious–isn’t everything with chocolate and peanut butter–but definitely VERY sweet.

How are the croissants (bakeries)? Sadly no croissants! If this place did have them, they would definitely be the sweet variety filled with something delicious.

Toast’s opinion? Toast was welcome in the bakeshop, but she didn’t try any of the goods since there was a lot of chocolate.

Verdict: If you want to really indulge in a decadent dessert without the gluten, Posh Pop is the place to be.
